Good news for everyone counting down to GTA 6! Rockstar Games has moved the digital preload forward to Tuesday, November 10, 2026, two days earlier than originally planned.
With the official release set for November 19, players will have nine days to download the game before heading to Vice City and the state of Leonida.

What time does the GTA 6 preload start?
Rockstar has confirmed the start times for both consoles:
- PlayStation 5: Tuesday, November 10 at midnight in your local time zone.
- Xbox Series X|S: Tuesday, November 10 at 00:00 GMT (1:00 a.m. Central European Time).
- Physical code-in-box editions: expected at retailers from Thursday, November 12. These boxes contain a download code, not a disc.
Preloading lets players who have preordered a digital edition download the game ahead of time. It does not grant early access: GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026.
GTA 6 needs up to 212 GB of free storage
This is the other big detail in Rockstar's announcement: the preload can require up to 212 GB of available storage, depending on your console.
Now is a good time to clear some space.
Check the free storage on your PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. Uninstall games you no longer play, move files where possible or consider expanding your console's storage.
With a download this large, a little preparation is far better than watching a progress bar on launch day.
A free official GTA 6 poster on November 19
Rockstar also has a small gift lined up for fans.
On release day, a free downloadable poster featuring the game's cover art and a map of Leonida is due to be available through Rockstar Games' official website.
It's a nice way to start exploring the setting before your first session.
The countdown is on
Only a few days remain before you can download GTA 6 and get ready to explore Vice City with Jason and Lucia.
Will you be staying up on November 9 to start the preload as soon as it goes live?
